Jet Li: Rise to Honor Review

Rise to Honor

Cinematic delights run right over the gameplay.

After starring in some fantastic movies from Hong Kong and some decent movies in America, Jet Li is making the move to the digital realm with Rise to Honor on the PS2. With Jet Li providing the moves and Cory Yuen supplying the choreography, this is a title that's bound to please the martial arts fans out there. The only question is whether or not all of the flying fists and feet translate well into a videogame experience. In the end, all of the cinematic flourishes can't help save a game that might've been good a few years ago, but is a lackluster experience today.

Saints Row IV

Saints Row IV has the same a similar as Superman. All things thought-about that is a reasonably smart drawback to own, as a result of it stems from awing powers like being quicker than a dashing bullet and ready to leap over tall buildings in a very single certain. however the factor several mag fans notice somewhat boring concerning the person of Steel is that if you’re essentially a god, nothing will challenge you – and what’s a hero while not a challenge to overcome? that very same ennui eventually proves to be Saints Row IV’s kryptonite. Developer Volition has created U.S.A. living gods in associate degree open-world town, and it's nice for a short time, however it renders abundant of what makes Saints Row The Third such a lot fun feeling pointless.

Twisted Metal Review

Twisted Metal creator David Jaffe once called car combat the "Rodney Dangerfield" of video game genres -- it gets no respect. With killer clowns, skull motorcycles, and a hearse that launches exploding coffins, some might dismiss Twisted Metal at first glance.

Resident Evil Revelations

Resident Evil Revelations HD may be a home console 3DS port, but it’s the survival horror game fans of this franchise have been waiting for

Resident Evil: Revelations HD started off as a Nintendo 3DS title, during a time when hardly anyone who was a fan of this franchise had a reason to Invest in Nintendo’s  handheld console. More fool them; Resident Evil: Revelations is not only a fantastic title in its own right, it’s arguably the best Resident Evil game since Resident Evil 4.

Project IGI: I'm Going In

The awkwardly named Project IGI: I'm Going In follows in the trend of the Rainbow Six series, the Delta Force series, and SWAT 3. It eschews the outlandish futuristic weapons and imaginary settings of many traditional shooters and focuses instead on contemporary realism. In the game, you play as David Llewelyn Jones, a former Special Air Service member who now works as a freelance operative for both the British and American governments.

Silent Hill 2 Review

It's almost impossible to think about the survival-horror landscape without mentioning Resident Evil, so, I'll make this quick. Nintendo may have snagged the Resident Evil series for the next five years or so, but it's really no worry. Why? Because of Silent Hill 2. Thankfully, Konami has emerged from a long, dark slumber with the sequel to its first creepy, horror-filled adventure, and it's an experience that, excuse the Chaucerian, is sure to freak the crap out of you.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex

When Naughty Dog started out with Crash Bandicoot back in the mid-1990s, its goal was to make a fun, deep, and likeable platform character game. While the first title had a few problems holding it back, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back set the record straight, and set Crash's course...er, so to speak. Now that Universal has taken control of the title entirely, and has Travellers' Tales to take the mantle, the team decided to follow a familiar path. The goal? To make a fun, deep, and likeable platform character game for the PlayStation 2. Sound like a familiar phrase? Well yeah, it is, and every so often I have to remind myself that not every game has to be Twisted Metal: Black, Gran Turismo 3 or Grand Theft Auto 3.

SEGA Sports Tennis Review

When I played soccer and volleyball in high school, I always thought that tennis was a niceproper sport, usually best played by rich kids and debutants (all dressed in happy white). It was kind of a narrow, macho perspective on things, but it was also true in some respects. Now that I'm older and wiser (and in some ways even more stupid), I like tennis, and hold none of the grudges I used to. In fact, now that women's tennis has evolved and grown so much -- and that the sport has been so well translated to videogames -- tennis is now one of my favorites.

Rumble Racing

While last year's NASCAR Rumble on PlayStation was a very enjoyable racing game, it had a few nagging problems that held it back. The souped-up versions of real NASCAR vehicles were cool, but seemed somewhat limited, the racing was really fast, but was hampered by the lack of balance with the power-ups, and the AI in the middle to late levels was frustratingly malicious and much too difficult. Fortunately, it appears that the game's developers had most of this in mind when it came time to make Rumble Racing, as just about all of the problems of the original have been completely addressed.

Temple Run

Temple Run is a tricky game to review in one sense. It's a title most people will be familiar with, but it's the first time it's been available on Windows Phone. So all you need to say is that 'it plays as well as other version'. But in another sense, it means the focus can be on the more technical details and how the app delivers the experience, The good news is that Temple Run delivers in this area as well.

Clock Tower 3 ps2

During the survival horror craze of the late 1990s, Human Entertainment's Clock Tower series rarely received the accolades that its designers had hoped for. Renowned for its storyline and atmosphere while simultaneously trounced for its complete and total lack of intuitive gameplay, the point and click adventure never pulled itself from the shadows of bigger and better adventures like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. And to be honest, it was rightfully so.
